Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its new up and coming show 'Nurturing Walls'. The opening will see the launch of the stunning new book 'Nurturing Walls', a fascinating insight into to the secret rituals of the Meena women, along with a collection of their artworks. The show will be opened by John Berger on 25 October at 7pm.
"Art from the walls of Meena tribal homes in Rajasthan is celebrated on the pages of this stunning hand made book. The women of the community paint the mud walls and floors of their homes, marking festivals and changing seasons.
Mothers teach their daughters how to paint, passing on their skills and keeping the art alive."
