Alasdair Wallace's painting fetches highest amount in "The River Runs Through It" museum show – 26 February 2011
Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery opened its first ever selling exhibition in a bid to raise cash for the city's newest museum. Work from 28 invited artists was shown until the end of January in a bid to raise funds for the £74m Riverside Museum, which is due to open next year. Some of the works are by Scotland's most established painters such as Peter Howson and Adrian Wiszniewski. Alasdair Wallace's entry includes his distinctive "Flock" formation which incorporates items related to Glasgow, Clydeside and the transport industry.
