Artist Statement
Exuberant, colourful and vibrant, Maggie Jennings’ work celebrates the energy of living things. She works with the vigour and dynamism that she perceives in the world around her to produce strong sensuous images that glow, breathe and proclaim their existence with a sense of certainty and pleasure.
Having trained as a printmaker, Jennings has adapted the techniqus of sceen-printing to make one off paintings. Her acylics on paper are painted energetically in strong but translucent colours, thinly applied, to let the white of the paper glow through and keep the colour values bright and clean.
