Artist Statement
world and the art world.
I draw inspiration from the real (Lucien Freud making a cup of coffee for his model) and fanciful worlds (Chagall traveling over Paris on a magic carpet)often combining the two. I borrow ideas from books and other photographic sources, found images, my own snapshots and references from art history, film and popular culture are among my starting points. What did Andy Warhol eat for breakfast? Who washed Monet's brushes? Why does Hockney wear odd socks?'
