Anna Howarth
Artist Statement
Anna Howarth studied and was awarded a first at the University of Salford. Initially training in painting, followed by animation and video installation. She was the first artist to have a video installation accepted at the national Eisteddfodof Wales.?? Anna's work has connections with Celtic and Northern European mythology, folklore and fairy tales. She is inspired by ideas which re-evoke the shapes, themes and shadows of childhood memories, creating magical patterns using elements of light and dark. ??She says: Imagery is everything for me. It can make my heart pound. This is what excites and inspires me when I visit galleries, read poetry, or go to concerts. I capture in my art what I am unable to express by any other means.?? She has lived and exhibited in Wales, Cornwall, Manchester and London and has toured with opera and theatre companies in Mexico, Canada, Greece and most European Countries.
